Keeping a horse means keeping records. What the vet said, when the farrier came, which wormer and when, what the jab dates are, what it all cost. For most people that lives in five places at once: a phone calendar, a group chat, a drawer, a spreadsheet, and the bit you meant to write down and did not.

None of those places knows about the others. Nothing owns the horse.

This does. One record per horse, with the dates worked out from what is in it rather than from a list you have to maintain, quick enough to use at the yard with cold hands, and shared with the people who look after the animal.

The record book is free, and it is meant to stay that way for the people who sign up early. FOUNDING MEMBER PROMISE.

It is free because the alternative is charging owners for the ability to keep the records the law already requires them to keep, and that is not a business we want. If money is ever needed it will come from yards and professionals, who are running businesses, rather than from somebody keeping one horse in a field.

There is no advertising, and there never will be. A record book that shows you adverts based on your horse being lame is not a record book.

• Sell your data, rent it, or train anything on it.
• Show you advertising.
• Name a veterinary medicine anywhere the public could see it, because advertising a prescription medicine is an offence and we are not going to be casual about it.
• Guess at a legal deadline. Every rule cites the page it came from and the date somebody read it, and where nobody has read it yet the tool declines to answer rather than inventing a number.
• Pretend to be a passport, or produce anything that could be mistaken for one.
• Hold your records hostage. Export is free and always available.

Honestly: early. The record book is being built now. The mobile companion comes after it. Several of the free tools are drawn but refuse to answer, because the rules behind them have not been checked against the official sources yet, and a tool that guesses is worse than no tool.

Where something on this site is a design rather than a working screen, it says so on the picture. We would rather look less finished than we are than claim to be more finished than we are.
